Chuck Goudie Eyewitness News Poster

Final Poster Design
My design for the ABC7 Chicago I-Team Investigates poster aimed to encapsulate the essence of Chuck Goudie, the renowned chief investigative reporter, known for his unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of truth. Drawing inspiration from the gritty allure of crime show promotions and the enigmatic allure of The Godfather movie poster, I sought to create a visual narrative that resonates with Goudie's intense persona and the mysterious undertones of his investigative segments.

The backdrop of a dimly lit Chicago alley and skyscrapers serves as a fitting canvas, evoking the atmospheric setting often associated with Goudie's reports on Eyewitness News. This choice not only establishes a contextual backdrop but also imbues the poster with an aura of intrigue and suspense, inviting viewers into the world of investigative journalism.
Central to the composition is Chuck Goudie himself, portrayed with an air of authority and determination reminiscent of classic crime protagonists. Mirroring the iconic character-centric approach of The Godfather poster, I aimed to highlight Goudie as the focal point, emphasizing his pivotal role within the ABC7 Chicago I-Team.

The incorporation of red rectangles throughout the design serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it strategically ties in with the distinctive red hues of the I-Team logo, reinforcing brand identity and cohesion. Secondly, it adds visual dynamism and intensity to the overall aesthetic, mirroring the urgency and passion that characterize Goudie's investigative endeavors.
In alignment with ABC7 branding guidelines, every aspect of the poster was meticulously crafted to reflect Goudie's investigative manner and the ethos of the I-Team. By infusing elements of mystery, intensity, and authenticity, the poster serves as a compelling visual testament to Goudie's longstanding legacy as one of Chicago's toughest reporters, inviting audiences to embark on a journey of discovery and enlightenment through the lens of investigative journalism.
